We handle the technical safeguards HIPAA calls for, encryption, access controls, MFA, audit logging, and secure backups, and sign a Business Associate Agreement, so your IT foundation supports the compliance program you own.
Do we need a Business Associate Agreement with our IT provider?
Yes. Any vendor that can access your electronic patient data, including your IT provider, cloud backup, and offsite storage, should have a signed BAA on file before they touch that data. We sign one as part of onboarding.
Do you support Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental, and who owns what?
We support the IT around your practice management software: the server, database, workstations, network, backups, and imaging it depends on. The application itself is supported by the software vendor. We keep the environment on spec and coordinate with them, but we are not the software vendor and do not resell the license.
What happens if the server or internet goes down during patient hours?
Downtime stops every operatory tied to the server, from charts to imaging to check-in. We reduce that risk with monitored hardware, fast restore backups, and options like cellular failover and a written continuity plan, so you can keep seeing patients.
